BPPA offers guided bike, kayak and nature hiking tours for your enjoyment during your stay in “Chesapeake Country”. Local native guides offer you insight in to the ways and culture of their beautiful home, Dorchester County. They will escort you to experience some of our local treasures. These tours are geared for the novice hiker, paddlers and peddlers. They are leisurely trips for your entire group! Although places we visit will be alluring to children’s curiosity, we would not want them to venture into trouble therefore BPPA trusts that you are the best guide to decide weather your child is age appropriate.

Please call for reservations 410-901-9255
.

Bike Tours

Our bike tours include your Trek 7100 bike, helmet, bottled water and guides. Children are welcome but must be closely supervised. Thank you for consideration in this matter. We offer child’s seats, pull behinds and tag-a-longs for those who cannot pedal themselves.

Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays we will be traveling to Brooks Barrel Company.

Brooks is one of the last remaining slack barrel cooperages in the nation. You will see the same hand operated machines used in that time honored tradition of days gone by. For more information please see: www.brooksbarrel.com

Tours depart from the Hyatt Regency Marina @ 9:00 am and return by approximately 12:00 pm
Price per person: $65.00

Tuesdays & Thursdays we will be traveling to the JM Clayton Company.

Founded in 1890 by Caption John Morgan Clayton is still operated today by the same family. Brothers, Jack, Bill & Joe are the 4th generation and now Clay, 1st of the 5th generation currently operate Clayton’s seafood and are very proud of their heritage and can’t wait to greet you. For more information about Claytons see: www.jmclayton.com

Bike tours depart from the Hyatt Regency Marina @ 9:00 am and return by approximately12:00 pm

Kayak Tours

Our kayak tours include your Wilderness Systems kayak, Bending Branches paddle, PFD, binoculars, bottled water and guide. We will explore the Choptank River and Shoal Creek, searching for wildlife. Dorchester County hosts the largest concentration of Bald eagles on the East Coast next to the Florida Everglades and has a large population of the Maryland Diamondback Terrapin. Young children may get restless for this 2 hour tour so we will rely on your judgment of your children’s attention span. For more information on some wildlife you may observe on your trip please see: www.fws.gov/blackwater/

Tours are available Monday thru Saturday and depart from the BPPA @ the Hyatt beach twice daily 8:00 am and return approximately by 10:00 am, and 4:00 pm and return approximately by 6:00 pm
Dorchester County has 250 species of resident birds and is located on the Atlantic migratory Flyway. The flyway enables us to observe many different kinds of birds and butterflies. This trip includes your guide, a bird guide and binoculars and lasts for approximately 2 hours.
