We all need a “cool change” from our way of life and this is the place to find it. Sometimes it seems as though our lives are so pre-arranged that we just need to forget it all and have some fun!
BPPA is ready for everyone! Do you want the peace and quiet of paddling or pedaling on the rural landscapes belonging to the calmed, laid back lifestyle of some? Or do you want to be like the fun adventurous spirit who needs the speed and excitement of power boating? Well then, you are at the right place!
BPPA operates from the Bucktown Village Store, which is believed to be one of the oldest stores still operating in Maryland today, pre 1830. Bucktown is the home of Harriet Tubman, conductor in the Underground Railroad. The store is believed to be the site of a live changing event in her life. Our 2nd location is the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Resort beach front on the beautiful Choptank River. Both locations offer wonderful opportunities for you to enjoy “Chesapeake Country”!
Paddle on one of our pristine rivers, meditate, coast, and watch the birds of prey fish for lunch. Look for deer feeding in the fields or catch a glimpse if the endangered species “Delmarva Fox Tail” squirrel scampering for nuts in the woods. Maybe after you have paddled the rivers you may want to pedal the land and enjoy a bike ride through Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge or take one our guided bike adventures leaving from the Hyatt Marina.
Experience the excitement of stepping on board a motor boat or a pontoon boat and then, try your hand at knee boarding or tubing. Or, catch a Craig Cat, which is a boat just for two, and then ride the waves and take a look at the beautiful homes located on the gorgeous Choptank River. After your fun time of play on the river you may want to cruse to one of our local restaurants. They have a boat slip ready just for you to come in and enjoy some of our fresh local seafood. If sailing is your pleasure we have the Hobie Wave or the Hobie Mirage where you can enjoy the wind in your hair and the sail and the sun. Have you ever paddled a swan?
