However, with Americans’ growing use of automobiles, patronage of the nation’s rail lines started to decline, and such was the case with the passenger trains in New Hampshire. On October 15, 1999, RailAmerica, Inc. announced it was acquiring I&O parent company RailTex, and today the I&O operates as a subsidiary of RailAmerica. Any recommendations on where these archives might be found would be very welcome. Around 1913, the Berkshire was double-tracked from Berkshire Jct. to New Milford. He intends to win over opposition by showing them the country being crossed and the progress already made.
